Chugg Entertainment is pleased to announce that San Diego’s favourite songsmith, Jason Mraz is set to return to Australia in March 2008, showcasing songs from his highly anticipated forthcoming release “We Sing We Dance We Steal Things”. Mraz kicks off his tour down under at the West Coast Blues & Roots Festival on Saturday 15th March before spending his Easter long weekend performing two sets at the 19th Annual East Coast Blues and Roots Festival in Byron Bay and the Point Nepean music festival in Victoria’s picturesque Mornington Peninsula. In between his festival performances (and perhaps trying his luck at some of the Australian coast’s most inviting surf beaches), Mraz also drops by some of his favourite venues along the East Coast in this, his fifth tour of Australia. He and has band will play at the Prince of Wales in Melbourne on Tuesday 18th March, The Tivoli in Brisbane on Thursday 20th March and finish up in Sydney at the Metro Theatre on Tuesday 25th March. Originally hailing from the unassuming town of Mechanicsville Virginia, Jason Mraz moved west to Southern California in 1999, and found himself at home in San Diego’s thriving coffeehouse set, and at his favourite local haunt “Java Joes”, Mraz honed his musical skills, and gained friends, fans and in no time, a major record deal. Mraz’s first studio album “Waiting For My Rocket To Come” was released in 2002. The debut LP showcased his unique blend of folk, pop, hip-hop and roots rock, received major critical praise and spawned chart-topping singles including “The Remedy” which launched his career internationally. Not resting on the success of his debut record and the follow up release “Mr A-Z” produced by Steve Lilywhite, (U2, Dave Matthews Band, Rolling Stones), Jason Mraz has been continually touring, and consistently impressing the pants off his oldest fans and winning over new enthusiasts in every town, not to mention sharing stages with the likes of Coldplay, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones and Dave Matthews Band along the way. Jason is currently putting the finishing touches on his next studio album “We Sing We Dance We Steal Things” and the first single from the Album “I’m Yours”, due to be released in March 2008, though already a crowd favourite thanks to his 100,000’s of dedicated online friends. Don’t miss your chance to see Jason Mraz playing new songs from the forthcoming record, and more when he tours Australia this March. Tickets go on-sale 9am, Tuesday 29th January through www.ticketek.com.au or 132 849.
