Welcome to the 3rd edition of The Blues News.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans
Avenue at Bluesfest

It's Peter Noble here, your Festival Director and Artist Booking Master.

This is such an exciting time for us as we begin the countdown to the 1st Bluesfest artist announcement 2012 - which is only weeks away.

I am pleased to say it looks like there are a couple of great announcements coming up, as Bluesfest continues to attract the cream of the world's artists.

Maceo Parker at Bluesfest

I truly believe the artists we will announce will be one of the best Bluesfest has ever made, if not the best. Of course I am dying to tell you - however there is the 'not inconsequential' matter of getting the agreements done, contracts signed, playing schedules locked in, tour dates finalised - and all the myriad of other things it takes to get this over the line in time. It sure is like a roller coaster ride at times!

All I can really say is keep an eye on the website and further emails sent from Bluesfest - you won't regret it.

In this Blues News we have added a couple of really interesting newspaper reviews about Bluesfest - a must read, plus we also included the latest reviews of some of Bluesfest's much loved artists brand new CD releases.

Hope you enjoy them!

Things happening on the farm - our Bluesfest home:

Peter and Little Scratchy

Koala Study

We have just begun a year round koala study with the Uni of Qld tagging 5 koalas with radio collars which will allow the University to track their movements and health.

Our land is wonderful koala habitat, and we intend to have a management programme that will allows us to do best practice flora and fauna management - AND, present a festival that causes minimum impact to our living environment.

Lantern Parade at Bluesfest

There are so many wonderful animals, birds and reptiles at Tyagarah - from Echidnas, Bandicoots, many types of Bats, Wallabies, Carpet snakes, Goannas, Ducks - it is such a beautiful and peaceful space. We are soon planting dozens of Swamp Mahogany tress to add to our Koala food trees.

We would like to thank everyone for being environmentally aware on our land - as you have been - and for respecting our wildlife areas.

Improvements we are
working on:

Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm
Bluesfest's Home

We have gone through our camping area as well as parking area and added better drainage and roadways all around since the last fest.

We are also doing the same within the event site - as well as providing waterproofing by adding more walkways.

You really will notice a difference next year.
